Sam came to join me and Levi my 14 year old staff bitch back in May when he was 5 months old. His old owners couldn't keep him anymore as he had become pretty unmanageable as he was growing and not being walked adequately. No fault of theirs really, but just a change in domestic circumstances and they did the right thing to rehome him although very upset about it. He couldn't be let off the lead at first because he would bolt off into the distance was very difficult and resentful to all training or discipline. Anyway I've finaly got my doggie pics on to photobucket so here is Sam in action over the last 10 months

sometimes he tries to rest lol but large punks and staffies don't help by getting into his favourite rest places! Hmmmmm, the rotton marrow incident.... Never too old to enjoy snow ;-)

I know.....lets use a whippet as a hare! I think Levi took a rest at this point then the whippet konked out lol so Levi got back into it knackered.....well maybe not in Sams case. Levi has had a new lease of life since Sam joined us. Last May she was a miserable, staggering, overweight, clingy, deaf 14 year old who didn't want to go out for more than 15 minutes and not particulary interested in socialising anymore. I really thought at that point it would be curtains for her soon. I've heard many people saying they can't rehome a dog as their older dog won't handle it. The change in her is incredible. Despite her age related problems, she has found the will to live again :-D Well done Sam for being such a tonic and also a complete muppet :-D

Sorry about the multiple pics, but so rare on my laptop to get the forum and photobucket working in conjunction with each other!

Gorgeous pics! Really sweet Levi has perked up with Sam around. I had two staffies before we moved to the UK and they were just gorgeous. I love the breed. Great that Sam has a new home, he seems really happy

Great that Sam has a new home, he seems really happy I agree, staffies are totaly gorgeous and its such a shame to see so many up for rehome due to overbreeding :-( I've had Levi since she was 2 and shes never hurt a fly. Shes had fledging budgies fall in her bed while shes in it and not moved a muscle, and my old rabbit used to sleep with her at night :-)

I used to have a normal very big long coated border collie until he passed away at 17 years old. I thought long and hard before rehoming Sam as I know how much work they can be. About 2 minutes in all lol! :-D I would deffo have another staff again. Such people friendly dogs :-)

Sam is gorgeous, Nat. Well done you for giving him the discipline this breed needs. They are a working dog, first and foremost .......... most people forget that.

Sam is gorgeous, Nat. Well done you for giving him the discipline this breed needs. They are a working dog, first and foremost .......... most people forget that They sure do Hezz. Sadly the rescues get quite a few in under a year old as they get unmanagable due to lack of excercise. My last collie didn't really settle down until he was 9 or 10! Lovely pics, ive always wanted a collie but never been brave enough or fit enough , my JRT is as mad as hatter but small enough to pic up and cart off, appologising while i go Lol, I'm with you on the fitness thing! I can't wait till the weather gets better so I can take my fold up chair and book and just sit in a field with them. All the JRTs I know are a bit mental lol. Just as well they are small. My friend can't let hers off the lead as she disapears all day! :-o Read more: budgerigarsforum.proboards.com/thread/5651/sam-rehome-collie-action-shots#ixzz2OuNWqWlP
