Hey guys! Naomi here. SO! I was told that both of my budgies were hens, however something has chaged in the past two weeks that made me reconsider the information I was given. Below are some photo's of past and most recent pictures to compare, Hope you can help. Layton when I first had her Layton now which is clear she is definately a hen! But its Ophy, 'she' has had a blue nose since I got her 6 months ago but the cere is still blue. Photos below. Ophy on the right, this is a past photo Current photo, is Ophy male? Fact is I find it strange that Laytons cere would change colour and not Ophys? Help please!

Nope they are both hens. They just don't always come into breeding condition at the same time.

A cock's cere is really very blue. Like a bright royal blue. That washed out blue/white colour is typical of a hen out of breeding condition.
