I recently bought 2 baby budgies. They were hand tame when we got them at 6/7 weeks old because they were handled from a young age. We have had them for about 2 weeks and we get them out of the cage every day. They are happy to get on our hands but won't stay. They always fly off straight away and sit on the lamp shade. Aside from the occasional race around the room, they don't come down. They will jump on our hands if we go up to get them, so we can put them in their cage again but if we try to sit down with them (even with millet) they just fly off again
I don't think they fully trust us yet. Even when we give them millet and all the things they like, they are still very antisocial to us. What's the best way to gain the trust of 2 energetic baby boys?
Thanks,
Ollie

Welcome to the forum. They will need time to settle in. Just keep working with them and have patience and you will get there. There are some great threads on here about new birds and taming. Love to see a picture of your budgies...what are they called?

Yeah, I'm hoping they start to learn we are not the bad guys so they will want to be with us. I will get some photos out when I get a chance. Their names are Lupo and Piqué. Piqué is an albino and Lupo is a sky blue clearwing. Beautiful little guys!

Hey Ollierice, Lupo and Piqué welcome to the forum! Cant agree more with what Mizloco has said, once they have settled in and they start to understand that you are no threat to them they should come out of their shells a bit more. Training does take a lot of time, care and patience. Best of luck and let us know how you get on!
