Hi 1 month back I have posted about candy's feathers (yellow budgie) ...candy is fine and has got its feathers normally.... now I have bougth another budgie choco...its been 15 days I bought....last week it had broken one of its flight feather and it is a blood feather....I have applied corn flour and the bleeding stopped....there are no vet in our area and the breeder from whom I bought also unaware of the vet.....and today morning I have seen again blood on the same wing and I took choco and observed deeply....the cut blood feather has grown more a bit and there is a blood clot at the end....the cut blood feather is bulged than the others.....and looks bigger....I am scared to pull it off....will it heal on its own? ?? Is there any home treatment for this.....please help.....

If he starts bleeding again, and you can't stop it, you may have to pull the feather. This is really best done by someone who knows what they are doing.
If you get into an emergency situation and he's bleeding a lot, hold your bird firmly wrapped in a small towel to he can't move or struggle out, get a pair of small pliers or good strong tweezers, grasp the blood feather right at the bottom of the shaft by the skin and pull in the direction of the feather growth.
Have some clotting agent at the ready and some clean fabric or gauze that you can use to put some pressure on the follicle to stop the bleeding. Use enough gentle pressure to stop the blood flow, but not so much that could harm your bird.
Budgies are so tiny they can bleed to death quite quickly if they loose a lot of blood.

Hi stace thank you for the information....actually I thought of doing this but the broken blood feather is too big than the others and so I was scared...I have taken the bird ti the breeder anf they too dnt did it.....from the day the blood feather was broken there was no bleeding and in 20 min the blood had clotted after applying the corn flour....today also ii have seen little blood and it clotted again....not much bleeding....

I think when choco is flying he hit something on the broken blood feather and bleeded ....now there is no bleeding. ....

But the cut blood feather is growing without any feathers...just like a stick....is this fine? ? For how many days will that blood feather will have blood supply????choco is active and normal in his behaviour. ...
