This was Daley when we got him/her: budgerigarsforum.proboards.com/thread/6090/apart-gorgeousand we thought he was a boy/ Today I've looked at him and his cere has darkened and he's got blue round his nostrils. Does this mean Daley's a girl or is he a boy that's getting his blue cere? I was told he/she was 8-10 weeks but they may have lied!

I should also mention that the blue area isn't as pale as it looks on the picture - it's definitely blue, and also I don't think he/she's had his first moult (certainly not since I've had him/her) but he/she has grown a lot in the week I've had him.
Why do they have to be so confusing!!!!!
I can't find any pictures online showing how the ceres change as they get older, has anybody got any examples of before, during and after in either sex?

Thanks. Still not sure!!!! I think boy though - it looks like it's starting to change to look like the cere of the male budgie out of breeding condition in the linked webpage. There's definitely no white on his cere - maybe he's just an early developer!!
