Was Petsmart right about the gender?

Hello, I would like to hear input on the gender of my Budgie. The pet store said they gave me a male. And in case the pictures are difficult to see, well, the cere is pinkish with blue surrounding the nostrils. Thanks in advance!

It looks like a young male to me. You can faintly see the head bars on the white area and the eyes have no iris ring, there is also the dark tinge to the bottom of the beak that I have noticed in young birds.

The dark tinge on their beak is discolouring from being fed by a parent; this takes a while to disappear. This bird is quite young and the gender will become clearer over the next couple of weeks or so. I think it is a male.

The white suffusion in the picture is making it difficult.

Daley's cere looks similar - purple with blue around the edges and nostrils. When I got him a month ago it was all pinky purple so we assume he's male.

I'm not 100% that Daley is male though - eagerly anticipating his first moult to see if it's any clearer after that. I guess time will tell for both of them.

I was going to say it looks female to me, but everyone else is saying it's male, so let's go with that. lol
