Aww bless I hope Boo has calmed down a bit now stace? But admittedly this really did make me laugh out loud especially the "Fiddle de dee potatoes" bit, hope you are BOTH a little less frustrated now! xx I think the worst is over! Thank goodness.

You know what's really funny. Boo likes to vocalise when he's at it. His favourite for the task is his trademark "Fiddle de dee potatoes!", but said in a kind of rhythmic manner in tune with his sexy time rhythm. My mum is coming to stay next week, and I sincerely hope he's over this by then. It's a bit embarrassing. OMG im crying, with laughter . Sorry stace but i can just picture the scene with "Fiddle de dee potatoes", at least it wasn't "who did the poo" . Would love to be a fly on the wall when mum comes to stay, sorry again. I remember when i bred my first round, my mum walked in just as things were in full swing with Sky and George, i felt soooo embarrassed i actually blushed, thankfully she saw the funny side of it .

This makes me think of that song that goes something like "you and me, babe we're nothin' but mammals, lets do it like they do on the discovery channel." Nature at its best!!!

Probably not entirely the same thing Stace, but if it helps, even though its the middle of winter in Australia as you said, my budgies have definitely caught the lovebug and have been very um.....active Gilbert has courted Daisy like every morning followed by and attempted mating, and Digger has successfully managed to have some fun as well. I don't know whats got into them-the boys are all about starting a family! Nicola

It would seem as though the budgie fraternity in Aus is enjoying an early "spring". As I have mentioned previously, even Smudge has been catching the vibes. I wonder if @corie and/or rachel have noticed anything with their breeders?

Can't remember if I said this before, but it's the long rainy spell followed by Spring-like sun that's probably at work.

Budgies sexual drive peaks every 6 weeks, the rains tell the birds it's prime time for breeding as there will be plenty of food.

How is he doing now stace? And was he good for the vet? He seems pretty good, samwiseg. He was actually very naughty at the vets. This last time was his third visit and he escaped. It was a Saturday morning and the vet clinic was absolutely packed with people, birds and pets. Boo slipped free, the first time ever, and was causing pandemonium. He would not be caught, no matter hard both me and the vet tried. He kept jumping in the vet's hair, which is undergoing "plug" treatment and getting his feet caught in the strands that were being pulled up towards the ceiling, across his face and forehead and out sideways. No matter how hard we both tried, Boo would not be caught. The vet had to go out and find a net to catch him in, and Boo was really really not happy about it. Talk about scream. This bird is definitely not for catching.

OMG! This is sooo not like the little guy is it? What's happening?! I feel I put the kibosh on Boo's vet visit I had to laugh a bit tho Stace, but I hope the vet didn't charge you for the hair treatment he was supposed to be undergoing as well as the consultation fee! Some birds aren't meant for catching though are they? I can just imagine what that scream is like - none of our birds do that except for MURPH. Anyone would think you are murdering him the little tyke But back to Boo, I hope he constantly improves for himself and the vet of course!

OMG! This is sooo not like the little guy is it? What's happening?! Actually, this is very like him. He won't be caught and he will fight like a little devil if anyone tries. You get one chance, and one chance only and can only do it if you catch him unawares.
