Hey Guys, Sorry I haven't posted in ages.... Can anyone tell me what this is above Sidly's cere? It appeared very quickly, first I thought he was just moulting and then it became a lot more obvious virtually over night. (rubbish phone photo sorry)

Poor Sidly! Sorry I can't help. Just wanted to say that I hope you get to the bottom of it soon. Is it affecting his behaviour in any way?

Hm that could be various things, with that and the shape his cere is, also the fact his beak appears to be too long and out of shape I strongly suggest getting him to an avian vet.
Are his toes and nails ok? Any head flicking that has suddenly started?
Any changes in general to his environment?

Hi Tacey. That's doesn't look good, does it. I've never seen this before so not much help. It looks like a vet job to me.

If I am remembering properly, Sidley's beak needs regular trimming, so that's not the issue here. It does look as though the growth is distorting his cere a little - that may end up being a problem. I would be putting the question to a vet, though. Hopefully it will be something easily treated.

I'd be off to the vets too. Not worth taking chances. The sooner the problem is identified the sooner it can be treated.

Unfortunately there's not an avian vet near here and it's a waste of time taking him to an ordinary vet.
He was acting completely normal and unaffected by it so I decided to just keep an eye on it for the moment instead of stressing him out with the long drive to an avian vet... and it's just kind of dropped off! The skin looks a little sore where it was but he's still acting completely fine... poo's are normal etc.

How strange that it dropped off, Tacey. Good to hear Sidly is fine in himself. I hope he continues to be fine & stops giving you little scares. It would be nice to get to the bottom of it though. Maybe someone else on here will know more.

That is the best news, I say. So he is back to his beautiful self then, Tacey? I do agree with Sweetpea; it would be good to know just what was going on, but Sidley's health is the biggest factor.
