Now I am guessing these are the little fluff-bunnies your daughter "rescued" recently? Love the names - sounds like a little girl has named them. But poor Tilly is not impressed .......... does she resent the bunnies as well, or just the fact that Alfie has come to visit?

LOL! Tilly definitely doesn't look too happy does she?! Lovely bunnies tho, they look very contented and what a treat to babysit Perhaps Tilly just needs her Harvey the rabbit or squidgy fruit (whatever it was called) to console her?

Yep these are the ones hezz, the, quote; "i went in for cat litter and came out with 2 buns, a hutch and all the paraphernalia" unquote; ones. There was a lady asking about just one of them and my daughter could see how attached they were to each other so she jumped in . I have to say they are cute and almost bowl me over when i go in to feed them, lots of hand nudging and rubbing goes on while im filling the bowl, they are practically joined at the hip, very sweet. Well Dylan thinks he named the brown one but i think the ideas were planted by Lucy and Jen . They pose no threat to Tilly's position in the house , which is around about the top of the tree , however Alfie does so i think its just him she is ticked off about , she will get over it, eventually.

Its a double whammy sam, Giggle Berry and Co are all rounded up and put away before Alfie comes, so she has advanced warning that he is on his way . Alfie keeps nicking off with her toys and generally bu##ering about, so to save any unpleasant going for the jugular behaviour i try and keep things simple, so she just sulks for the week and self harms by licking her front legs . Its all good fun here .

Poor Tilly! It really is not fair having to share and entertain someone you really don't like! I do remember having to do this a few times as a child ......... parents, huh? ? Hang in there Tilly; it is only a week ........ that's do-able ........ just. I have never had anything to do with rabbits - to me they are a feral creature that have and still are ruining our environment for the native creatures. Some states you can keep them with a permit but others not at all. While I always thought it was a shame, as they are cute little things, they don't look half as cute as these two little floppy-eared munchkins.

Did a bit more research on it because my daughter will be very interested, hefty fines too if anyone is found keeping them . That will be us then bringing the little blighters over for food and a jolly good bit of shooting sportsmanship . I wonder if they ever gave a thought to what pest's they would become. I know there are some parts here that have problems with them even down to making buildings unstable with the underground warrens. The myxomatosis wiped out 90% of our population in the 50's, introduced deliberately or not i think its a hideous disease which causes a very long painful death. I found a young rabbit with it a few years ago on campus where i worked, i put him in a box and took him to my vet to be pts, it was a sight i will never forget . Anyway you learn something new everyday and like i say i will fill my daughter in on her return, thankyou .

Cheers, Skysmum. Myxo is in Australia as well, and as you say, a horrible way to die. We have the colonials to thank for rabbits, foxes, and pigs, in particular that were brought over for a reenactment of the landed gentry and their shooting prowess. Maybe they weren't as good shots as they thought!!! ry Smudge having her say on the introduction of exotic species. Of course there are others that have gone feral as well, but the rabbits and foxes were purely for sport ........ and pigs are a nightmare everywhere. So some more cute fluff-bunny photos are always welcome whenever you feel the urge.

The buns and Alfie have gone home, much to Tilly's relief. Poor Tilly has been poorly this week, i had to take her to the vets as she was passing blood . She is on anti b's and a paste like Kaolin, apparently Gastritis/colitis which has possibly been aggravated by stress, probably Alfie being here . I don't know, she's a bit of a stress head, what am i going to with her.

Eww! Poor Tilly. It may mean you have to desist with the pet-sitting, well, Alfie anyway, if it upsets her this much. How old is she? Valium?? Maybe while the visiting is happening? We recently had weeks of Mac stressing out and getting anxious every night come tying up time .......... the vet nurse tried to tell me that he needed a vet consultation and possibly valium or similar. I said that wasn't going to help us understand what was going on - not answering the "why" of the problem. Have to say I wasn't impressed with her suggestions. A little trial and error (without drugs) and all is well ........ for the time being. With Mac, there is always something else come up some other time.
