Well since the budgies and cockatiels are going the aim now is to keep just finches, zebra finches, bengalese, java sparrows, cherry finches and moluccan mannakins. The plan is keep 2 of my flights as they are well built, I plan to have storage cupboards under one flight with opening doors and selves inside. an area for seed storage. 10 breeding cages 24 inch long by 12 inch deep, and also 2 planted flights for breeding. with a few extras thrown in. So far in the process of building a stack of 4 cages all in one. photos coming later, i need to order in some cage fronts from wades!

So far i need to buy a extractor fan, £10 in machine mart BUT im keeping an eye out for a cooker hood also, money is no object on this so. I need cage fronts which i will be getting from wades, and also alot of wood from the local timber yard. Guardian angel i will also be buying with these cherry finches and that, i dont want to risk losing any!!!

Bought 8 24inch x 12inch cage fronts from wades, cost 40 pound. they take ages to come though. Work started today on demolishing the extention the idea is less room equals less birds, i dont want hundreds of birds again. So i have tonnes of wood and corrogated roofing to get rid of.

Shed update, 2 blocks of 4 cages measuring 2ft long by 1ft deep, so i now have 8 breeding cages large enough for finches.
I have to make 2 baby flights next not very big but ok for babys. I have room now for seed bins, seed bags, worktop with selfing, in the past ive had shacks but this time the interior is done very very well. I have my cousins husband making nest boxes for me also.

Update for today, another block of 3 cages this time slightly smaller size of 19inch x 12 inch instead of 24inch. All cages fitting inplace andsecured, vinyl tiles laid on the floor and the boarding under the cages, i have a 2 foot gap from the floor to the bottom cage, saves my back and keeps the birds off the floor. Cages painted they need a second coat some anyway. Getting there slowly. worktop area to do tomorrow, fit selvin and tile the worktop surface.

Got more done today in the shed, the 3 budgie breeders are now finished with wire fronts on, not cage fronts as i only ordered 8, In the budgie breeders i have 2 different perches, one is round the other is square but its quiet thick, reason for this isnt to aid mating but just to exercise the feet.
Safety door made, i have made it so its half wire and half ply.
All cages are painted and ready to get the fronts on, so im just waiting on the fronts...... and then im finished pictures when i have finished.
