She's a tough one, that's for sure!

Meanwhile I've thrown out one lot of quail eggs as they were not hatching. Hopefully mum can relax and get her strength back before laying the next lot. I'll give them a whole boiled egg tomorrow, from our own chooks.

The other baby quails appear to be thriving in spite of the changeable weather. They are playful and fit snugly under their parents when they get cold. They are so cute!

I have not counted but there are a lot of budgie eggs. We will be one big family soon!!!

My very best hen (no longer with us) had more than once 9 hatchlings at a time, and seemed to cope. A remarkable feat!

He did a great job, and another behaviour I have learnt about. They keep surprising!
