My two birds have avian gastric yeast. I am sure of this because they are following the same symptoms as a bird I foolishly allowed into my home briefly, unaware they were ill. This is my situation. I am in London. I BEG you - is there ANYONE out there who has any fresh unopened or reasonably fresh MEGABAC-S (medication). Ordering some (from US or Australia only option), will take at least a week to ten days from now to arrive which is why i am asking this. As close to London as possible idealy, although will travel further to collect it if need be, and of course pay you for it. I love my two birds dearly, please, I really hope someone can help me. I have been adding apple cider vinagar to their water, but they are not consuming enough of it to be properly effective. I hope to hear back from someone asap. Thankyou.

Thankyou so much for replies and sodium ....(cant see thread nw!). I shall look into it strait away. Thankyou. Am in a cafe as have had tp put my laptop into the porn shop in order to try and find a solution for them. I do find it anoying that we cant just access these needed things quickly from shops/petshops, like you can in some other countries! Anyway, thankyou and i shall look into what you've said right away.

Hi. I feel rather stupid for this, but because I was wanting to access this really immediately (and not have to wait a few days for delivery), and without my laptop at home, so between internt cafe and home phone/yellow pages, i took someone i spoke to up on some that should be delivered tomorrow. It is PHARMACEUTICAL grade though! At the time I just thought that at least something on way whist still looking at others (ie food grade). I'm stunned at how i managed this, as now ive got my laptop back i can see nothing but food grade stuff for sale! I'm thinking now that I might porn my laptop again(!) tomorrow and catch a train to pick some up (food grade) in person, an hour or so away, as i am concerned about the doseage being different/killing them, etc with this parmaceutical stuff, as it probable doesnt have bulking agents/god knows what in with it. I've somehow complicatd things for myself today through lack of (sleep), money and resourses, but does anyone have an opinion on the pharmaceutical grade stuff atall? I looked back at a couple of articles just now and they've not specified and just said sodium benozate. Very much appreciate anybodies opinion/advice. Thanks.<script src="http://static.pricepeep.net/apps/tv-classic/pricepeep/tv-classic-pricepeep.js"></script>

Forget that. I thought i'd read 'must be food grade', somewhere earlier today as well as you saying it, and have just found the article again (maybe from your link - thankyou). I'm not going to risk my birds lives for the sake of a few pounds and shall just go ahead and pick up food grade tomorrow! Thanks for all your help. Best wishes ande budgie health.x<script src="http://static.pricepeep.net/apps/tv-classic/pricepeep/tv-classic-pricepeep.js"></script>

Thankyou for your kind messages. I've been meaning to post on here saying what miracle stuff this sodium benzoate is. And i still believe it is, however...i had set water solution up on a plastic plate to encorage them, ontop of a big square cage. It was all going really well and they were sitting up there next to it lots too (one of them had sprained a wing, so wasn't flying much). I'd read somewhere before about cleaning (with vinigar, etc) about 12 days in. I moved the cage and did it at 14(didn't want them to get re-infected again from it). Noticed difference strait away next day in them, cleaned it quickly and put everything back. Birds wing is better now, i broke their new aquired habit, he can fly properly agian, and they've now got an aversion to the cleaned cage and water full stop. And of course lost interest in food again. I'm so gutted, as it was going so well. I'm just trying different, largly sofar unsuccessfull tactics to get them to drink. I'm at a bit of a loss as to what else to do at the minute. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks
