Thanks all! I called the vet and they did put my mind at rest - think I was just panicking. Will get some more pics up. They are just gorgeous - and love to play with each other when they are scooting about the room. Erica has learnt how to sit on the TV and looks down to watch it - Ern is a bit slow on the uptake, bless him

Just while I'm here - what other tasty, healthy treats can I let them have that grow naturally? I know about dandelion leaves (in small quantities) but is there anything else?

Ian & Marshall are addicted to seeded grass. Unfortunately the season's nearly over now - and it needs to be collected away from major roads, chemical-sprayed crops, etc so that it's safe to eat - but, during the growing season, they compel me to go out to the fields near where I work for 10-15 minutes every lunch-hour to do some harvesting.

Thistles ....... ah, as Rose so rightly comments, your season would now be finishing up in time for winter to start rearing its ugly head! But any grass seed-heads they will be happy with, although you will get to know that they do have their favourites. So otherwise you are going to be restricted to getting their vits into them by veggies - check out this thread: budgerigarsforum.proboards.com/thread/509/fresh-foods-offer-budgie

Thank you - he asked if they looked wet, or if they had runny poo or if they were puffed up and listless. None of that - in fact they are currently whizzing about the kitchen and lounge very happily. He said to keep an eye on them, make sure everything clean (always is) etc. I am now convinced it's the seed smell and I am being paranoid. Feel a little foolish but better safe than sorry I guess. Love my little beauties. :-)
