Can whoever reads this please send positive vibes to my little flock because for the nth time in the last 6 months or so I am going to bed worried.
Today Charlie did the collapse thing for the first time ever but because of the current 'collapsing' thread chat I just chuckled and didn't think anything of it.
Then this evening I was more concerned when both Charlie and Woody slept most of the time. They would normally be very active at this time flying, chattering and generally interacting with the other two and their surroundings.
Charlie was fluffed up, and was very irritable with Woody - not like him at all. And one or both of them was producing white watery droppings (mostly urine, I suspect). They haven't eaten anything unusual or in unusual quantities today.
I have some Baytril so I gave Charlie a dose. Don't know if this was the right thing to do or not. I shut him in the cage but then Woody couldn't get in. Latterly Woody seemed a bit more like himself, interrogating some raffia and showing it who's boss.
I opened up the cage desperately hoping that I would still be able to get both of them in. Charlie went out and sat hunched up near the cage. An hour later everyone else was ready to get to sleep including me. Eventually Charlie did go back in, but as I type this I can hear them having chittering altercations. Again, not normal. I have set up a infrared lamp for extra warmth. Both of them have since produced normal looking droppings.
I am back to thinking that for definite these budgies are in cahoots to ruin my life, or bankrupt me at the very least.
