Hi I have joined this Forum just to let you know that there is a White Budgie flying around over Eastbrook Country Park, Romford, Essex. He has been over there a couple of weeks. My husband says that he looks to be in good condition at the moment but he won't come close enough for him to catch. I am not sure if budgies survive in the wild or not but am worried he may not survive the cold weather or maybe an attack from a larger bird.
Just wanted to let you all know just in case someone has lost one. He may come down for his owners. Chris

Thank you so much for taking the time to join the forum and let us know, it's very kind of you. Budgies can survive in our climate, the worry would be the colour. It would be easy for a bird of prey to spot it, that is why there are no albino birds flying around, they are the first to get picked off. Hopefully someone will be able to capture it and find it's owner before that happens.

Thank you for replying and with your ideas.
I phoned the local vet to see if any of their clients had lost a budgie but they didn't think so. But that they would put up a note on the wall. I did speak to the RSPCA and reported it but to be honest they sounded pretty vague about the whole thing!! I really don't hold out much hope there. My husband took a small fishing net with him today as the Budgie was on the path yesterday but today he didn't see him at all. Now i'm worried!! Though he did say there were a lot of people around and that the budgie stays in the same area so perhaps was staying out of sight. Anyway as his colour is against him it looks like the only hope we have is if we try to catch him and hopefully try to reunite him with his owners. Someone must be upset at losing him.

Jus thought I would give you an update.
Hubby hadn't seen the budgie for a week now. But he found out from one of the fishermen on Sunday that an elderly couple was on a mission last week to catch him in a net which they had with them. Not sure if it was their lost budgie or not. But since he hasn't been spotted since I am hoping and praying that they did actually succeed in catching him and it was a happy ending for him.
I must own up and admit that if we had of caught him and not found his owner I would have kept him and rushed out to buy him all the things a budgie needs to live a pampered lifestye!! LOL.

Lets hope they got him. Right, now you are ready why are you still sitting there? Go out and get all the things for a budgie to live that luxury lifestyle and then get yourself a budgie. You wont regret it and we are all here to help if you need it.
