I know it's been mentioned before about using branches for perches & I was wondering what woods are safe for budgies? I know there are threads covering this but I'm struggling to find them as the search facility won't work for me (it says ('there is a problem with the server'), can any of you point me in the right direction please? We have several cherry blossom trees in our garden, would they be suitable? Brodie now has a Natural Perch from Pets at Home, initially met with suspicion but now accepted as being ok but he still has some dowelling ones too.

I wouldn't use Cherry starrymist, there is some debate about it so i wouldn't chance it. Just to be safe i would use Apple,Eucalyptus, willow and Hazel, these are what i use and they LOVE them .

Thanks, will have to ask around, see if anyone local has a suitable tree they don't mind being pruned occasionally! My Gran had an apple tree but her house was sold last month, ah well.

Is sycamore ok? There's one at the bottom of our lane.
