I'm so mad, she has scaly beak. When I was at vet I mentioned her beak and cere has been lookin really dry for some time so was asking if she lacking vitamins, she said she couldn't see what I ment about beak so I obviously thought beak no issue as she is a vet. Well now I home angel is limping with dry looking legs, her cere is swollen and very dry, her beak is dry and scaly looking and when I caught her to show my mum she pointed out that what I thought was a seed is actually a lump on her cere, iv ordered a spot on treatment for her, hope it arives quick. Will have to look for 1 for smaller birds to treat my buds now too incase they catch it. I feel so upset that I noticed her cere looked dry months ago when sky was still with us but didn't think it much to worry about. I also angry that I spent lot money at vet for her to be misdiagnosed, and I had even pointed at the problem they should have easily be able to spot it. Also she had to go through the trauma of anti biotics that she may not have needed, I feel iv let her down and so have the vet. Can't wait to get her meds in post now don't want my baby to suffer any longer.

The best thing is that it is easily treated, so don't be too hard on yourself. You did ask the question; too bad the vet wasn't up to the answer! I'd be cranky too, I know. The other thing is that it takes a good amount of time to cause permanent damage, so I am sure Angel will be good once she has had her three doses. Of course it will take a while for her to grow out the damage, but the new growth should be healthy and normal.
