I have wondered why my rescue hen cockatiel can't fly. There doesn't appear to be anything visually wrong with her. Today I heard someone flapping in the aviary. When I looked it was Luna, clung to the side of the aviary having a good old flap and shouting with joy. I watched her and noticed one wing flaps at the normal angle while the other is at totally odd angle, sort of dropped, lower than the other. I wonder if she could have broken it at some point and it's healed wrong.

Sounds like the case, poor Luna. Or maybe dislocated her ...... shoulder, I suppose, or any joint actually. As long as she is happy,

It's good that she can flap it to excersise and is not in pain when flapping it. shame if she never flys again though. was there a perch or toy nearby, maybe she could have been aware it near so tryin to avoid it with wing. but if she has never flew while she with you sounds like your right poor Luna

She tries very hard to fly but can't get far, just plummets to the floor. I thought she was just in bad condition and would fly in time. Her mate can fly well. It's sad when you think what animals go through and no one does anything for them. No wonder she was terrified when I got her.
