Sorry Hezz, I am adding to the health section... During a fight (most probably between Thomas & Phineas - but it's hard to keep track!) Thomas has got an eye injury. I suddenly noticed his eye was all red. So alarming. Fortunately, the eye itself appears to be fine - he is moving it around & closing it etc. He also seems fine in himself & has been flying about & landing well so vision must be ok. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Vet visit? He's rubbing it a lot & the blood has mostly gone (it now looks less scary than this photo). I am thinking that it must be a scratch near the eye. If he wasn't so darn difficult to catch, I'd throw him back home for some rest & recuperation. Fortunately Phineas has not been bothering him so far (C & B locked up).

I am glad your Ernie appears okay, even if he does look like he's just auditioned for a horror film. Thomas is behaving normally too - he has just been giving Cagney the glad eye, with his injured eye, so he *must* be okay.... I put Phineas back home so only Thomas is out right now. At least this way a stray toenail, attached to a kung-fu foot, can't make its way to his eye again...

My goodness me, feisty little gals & guys aren't they. Who would believe they would do such damage to one another. Having said that I watched a program about the Australian wild ones and saw them fighting over a female. By they went at hammer and tongs. It looked as though the loser had a broken wing. Well they are hard in Australia so I led to believe.

My Phineas & Thomas get into quite bad scraps over Cagney, who isn't female, but clearly has something irresistibly charming about him!

Sorry you've had this upset with him. Hopefully you'll find he is ok in am. We've had a bit of a bloodstained day today.

Golden eye, get some from the chemist and use a cotton bud to dap on the sore eye, this should fix the eye in 2 or 3 treatments.

Bathing the eye in cold weak black tea is supposed to be soothing as well. Good luck, Sweetpea!

Hello all. Thankfully, Thomas is perfectly fine this morning. In fact, had I not seen all the blood with my own eyes I would not believe anything had happened. Thank you all for your suggestions. Hezz, I had forgotten about weak black tea - good idea. @corie, Golden Eye sounds like a good thing to have in the budgie medicine cabinet/box. Now I am left with the bigger problem of how to deal with/prevent the fights.

Your boys and their fighting! I can only make one suggestion, besides isolating them from each other, and that raises that "H" word again! They all need one good woman to crack the whip over them.
