Nothing to say she couldn't be older, is there, BB? ? No there isn't. But they have a 49 days breeding cycle and it was mentioned in the post by GoldieNYC that he had her for 3 months and it's the first time she has brown cere, so I thought that it can be her first breeding condition, which makes her under one year old. A few close up pictures of head, cere and feet will give a fair idea of her age. GoldieNYC Gallery <== here you are.

Yup. She now insists on taking phone calls only in her room. Oh no. Yeah, like, whatever. Yet, teenage girls don't suddenly start pecking after they'd stopped. Long morning. Does a brown cere mean "I've forgotten all the progress we've made," too? Ah well... Bad morning, better afternoon. We're working it out.

Well, she's not 5 years old. Based on the very dark pupils, at least (and the fact that the cere was light pink) wouldn't that indicate a still-very-young bird? She has been, slowly, learning to perch on my finger.

The colour of her cere will go back to pale pink when she comes out of breeding condition. Dark pupils are not an indicator of age either.

Well, if she answers "Series Three" to how far along Doc Martin is, I'll know more. But if she uses the word "iconic" in every other sentence, I'll know she's younger. ...Most interesting about the cere, in any case.

As everyone has said, it's hard to be certain how old she might be. Once they reach 6 months, all the indicators of youth disappear (bars on head, eyes, etc). Because Goldie is recessive pied it makes it even harder.
However, just seeing her and the way she bounces around, it makes me think she's younger rather than older. She just has the "look" and "attitude" of a younger bird.

Your relationship with Boo is something I've enjoyed immensely - particularly your petting and 'bonding', as we are always saying. It's truly touching. Goldie does, at least, pay very close attention.
