Been thinking about line breeding and in breeding which way is the best?
I believe that in breeding is father to daughter, mother to son, uncle to niece, grandfather to granddaughter etc am i right?
and line breeding is half sister to half brother, cousin to cousin, 2nd cousin to 2nd cousin so on is that right?

They are both much the same Owain , if you want to start a family and breed in some good features you first need to test pair the main cock bird, look to see if he produces better or as good has himself, if so he is a prepotent cock...................check out this link www.officialbarrieshuttbudgerigars.com/startingafamily.htm

Reason i ask i have 2 budgie pairs left the one pair produces birds of really good size but how do i know which parent is the one that is producing this?

It can be either one that passes on the better features Owain , the cock can be run with a few hens which would breed you half brothers and half sisters that can be paired together the following year..........the answer to your question can only be answered by test pairing both hens and both cocks with opposite partners
