Oh, how horrible to be parted from him. I hope all is well & it's just a simple sprain from being too adventurous, & not something scary. I have had a couple of buds who have strained their foot/leg. With Raspy, she was better after a few days, but with Cagney it took weeks before he could put his full weight on his foot.

Thanks for everyone's wishes for Lemonade he is a good boy. I've just got him back home from the vet. Much better. They think it was a sprain as he responded well to his medicine and can now put weight on the foot and isn't lying down. He has Metacam which I have to give him once a day and I am not looking forward to grabbing him and using the syringe. He also has Calcivet for his water. He is still leaning a bit to the side but I hope this wears off. I have an appointment to take him back next Friday for a check up, but if it gets worse he has to go back before then for an X-ray. He is currently visiting all the other cages and having a go of each swing. Probably making sure everything is in order after being away the night. I will be putting him to bed early so he can rest more. I have to go back out to work and try and make up time and hate the thought of it. Wish I could just stay at home now and keep an eye on him

I can only agree with everyone's sentiments - so happy to hear it is just a sprain ...... even a broken bone is better than worrying about tumours and the like! I remember when Blue had his first over-night stay, when he was first diagnosed, he shared a "ward" with another budgie with his little leg in plaster!!!

That's great. Let's hope a little sprain is all is was.
My buds got his foot caught up in something once and it took a couple of weeks to get back to normal. Ever since, one of his toes doesn't curl properly in the last joint.
