Lemonades foot doesn't seem to be improving He is still leaning to the side and not putting weight on it. And is limping when he walks. But apart from that he is happy, chirping, talking, eating and flying. Though at night he seems to be restless when trying to sleep and get comfy. I have a follow up appointment for Friday but don't know if I should take him back before then. I'm also not sure if I'm managing his medicine right My other half told me that his childhood budgie had a foot accident when it was 5 and the leg went curled up and lame, but he lived to 11. What do you forum guys think, should I take him back earlier than Friday?

Poor thing. Could you perhaps ring them first thing and see what they think?

Oh goodness... he looks a vision of loveliness. Poor little darling, with his toenail out in the cold. Some leg/foot injuries can take awhile to heal but like ffiscool says, it might be worth ringing the vet.

Yes I should give them a ring. Even if I ring them 1st thing when they open at 9, I'm supposed to be working down in Carlisle tomorrow so makes it difficult if they need him back in that day. It's a pity my avian vet is so far from home and that I'm all over with work. Oh and that hubby doesn't drive! Poor Lemonade. It's such a worry.

If they want him back in, do they do a late night or out of hours? If Lemonade is eating, chirpy and flying, he doesn't sound like he is in pain. I know sounds silly, but do budgies, birds get physio etc for feet? Or can warmth help like for us?

If he is happy within himself and the leg not getting any worse, I would leave him be.

He is on his way to a different vet. The vet school that birdghul mentioned to me in a previous thread a while ago, he is getting worse, his foot is curling and withered looking and he is falling. My own vet had no spaces to see me and I think he cannot wait. I really dont think this is a sprain anymore
