My poor boys appear to be molting again...would this be because the heating has been on more? I have given them some egg food today in the seed to try and boost them up a bit. They seem OK in themselves, maybe not quite so boisterous as normal.

I think they do it just so we Hoover the carpet more! Being serious though, I'm not sure about the effects heating has on them moulting. I have just started putting my heating on for the first time all year so I will keep an eye out if mine start again too. Hope your boys perk up

I wouldn't be surprised if the heating has a lot to do with it .......... with the heating on you don't need to wear as many sweaters either. Same with the birds.

Bert is very quiet today, not come out of the cage. He is preening and playing with his toys. I have put some guardian angel in their food just in case he is under the weather. I am hoping it's just the molting as there are little yellow feathers everywhere.

Try him with eggfood - you can only offer it. I have never had this problem when they are moulting - they still come out to have a whizz around, but your climate probably isn't helping there either.

I gave him egg food and a pinch of guardian angel and he is much more perky.
