Well i know ive only had this little chap a couple of days. I usually leave them for a week before starting to hand tame but he has been very receptive to me talking to him, coming to the bars with his head cocked looking intrested. He is not too bothered by me putting my hand in to change seed and paper etc. So we started today. Pics are not great because i was using one hand I held my hand to him a few times and took it out again, each time he stayed still, so i left it at that for now. A little later i was even aloud a little head scratch while he had his tea I just leave my hand still for the most part, he is learning im no threat. Each time i enter the room he runs to the bars. Its a start

This is amazing what you have done in 5 days! Yesterday FinFin was sitting on my Index finger as well, but only for a few seconds after that I gave him some millet. But he does not like to repeat it today. Indeed he very stubborn, when I put my finger like a perch in front of his belly, he does not know what I want from him and just sits there like a stone. He tries to get to the millet in my fingers with stretching his neck like E.T. the extraterrestrial... But no way I step up on this pink colored perch...

Wonderful progress! Brodie was on my finger with 1 foot the 2nd day & everyday since with both feet, he went through a spell though when he knew it was training time & he would go straight to his millet before we'd done any work, it was like he was saying "Can we just skip he boring finger stuff & go straight to the reward?" He's not daft!

That training arm can get very tired if you're holding it in the cage for any length of time. Looks like Chilli is going to be a breeze, though.
I got arm cramps once or twice while taming the untamed old bird I looked after for a couple of months.

Chilli sounds like a sweet and loving budgie. It won't be long until he is all tame
