I have 4 budgies in a huge indoor/outdoor aviary, i didnt separate the pair with the egg and the other two and they stay away and keep to there ends of the aviary, But i have a problem, since the chicks have hatched the male isn't interested in the chicks what so ever he has never been in there, since they have hatched, but the other day i notice that my other male in the cage he been going into the nesting box and feeding the chicks that are not even his is this normal? i think its sweet that he taken them on as his own, the mother sometimes cares he feeds them, but at other times she dosent mind,
This is my First time breeding and so far all three chicks are healthy and doing well :-)

Hi budgielover - welcome to the forum.
I can't answer your question but in replying I'll bump it up.
Any thoughts out there from our aviary / breeder members?!

Things like this happen in colony breeding. You shouldn't be worried if he is not aggressive towards chicks.
Also it's possible that he is the father of the chicks.
