I don't have a nest like a box.. but a clay pot. In India this is very common. I have already one pot in the cage but never seen any of the birds going near that. For couple of days they were interested in exploring the pot but then after none of it went near the pot again.

Remove it. This is the cause of the fighting, and will be, whenever a hen gets in to breeding condition.

Do you have any nest box in there? The hen may have come in to breeding condition, hence the recent fights. And if this is the reason, it will be over once she is out of breeding condition. Putting in two new males won't necessarily stop the fights. Probably it's will increase it more, cause the males will compete for the female. Mine do.

ya.. just to reiterate again.. I have one male and 3 females.... out of which one female is hyper-active poking at all others and kind of established its place like a DON... :-)

This could just be them establishing the pecking order. You will always have one hen who is the dominant force.

Bintu (blue male) motu (green female) chotu (white female) pintu (yellow female)
interesting thing I observed, Bintu and Motu are very close and never fight when I keep them separately... but when I put all 4 together, poor motu gets beaten up badly by other 3 (including bintu who is very close), kicking, biting on the back of neck, pushed aside etc...
so, I again separated Bintu and Motu.... surprisingly Bintu is all again after Motu playing, feeding etc.. and it tries to raise its leg over Motu unsuccessfully as Motu gives a big bite pushing Bintu away for few seconds
At the same time, not sure if Motu is ready for mating as I still see her cere pinkish white

Keep them separate, if you see that they don't fight that way.
Don't worry about the mating attempts from the male. The hens know how to deal with it. Also the cere has nothing to do with mating. Budgies mate even when they are out of breeding condition and not looking to breed.

Just curious to know... why was that Bintu (male) fighting, kicking, biting Motu female) when among other two females... but when separated, its back to its friendly nature with Motu and in turn getting some beating from Motu.. :-)

I don't think it would have been kicking and biting in it's full meaning. It must have been pecking. He was just trying to get her attention

Sorry if I make this morning confusing but in the last pic doesn't the budgie look female, seeing as there are white rings around the nostrils? 4 females?
