I am just wondering what it means. FinFin started since yesterday to act like a clown. I mean literally like a clown... Or circus bird or something like that. Whenever he has his 5 minutes xD he started jumping all over the place, even on the ground, he starts picking everything that lies there, then he tries to press himself through the little spaces between grate and food dishes... sometimes he presses himself even through the wooden latter, when this happens I think he ate a clown or something. He jumps like a crazy bird into his food dish and spills everything around, then he tries to get underneath the water pot and looks through it from below, tries to rub his head on the things that you can put up so the gate would open. You know these gates for the food dishes. When he is in this mode it's the only time he would get on my finger. Stays a few seconds and repeats his round of crazyness, I mean wth is going on with FinFin suddenly???

maybe he's just really testing out his environment now that he's feeling safe and confident in his new home..?

He has gotten over his wariness, settled in and now is starting to behave like many a young bird does. Pretty much as birdguhl has said. If you haven't already, try to get him a set of interconnecting rings. All my youngsters have enjoyed playing with these, threading themselves through them on the way up and on the way down.

Thank you guys, yeah I was nearly sure that he got over his wariness. It's so amazing that a little bird who seems to be so timid suddenly wakes up and becomes the clown of the day It has been a loooooong time since we had a very young budgie and I really couldn't remember that well anymore how young birds act. so I thought he might be afraid, but then every time he jumps around it's the only time he gets on my finger and then he did something very funny. He climbed through my hand, from the index finger through the hole of my hand, that I formed and he went through it, like through a tunnel I thought, wow he really isn't that afraid of hands at all! I mean he really let's me pet his head and he stretches his neck so I can pet him even more. But for some reason the perching on something, even a spare perch doesn't work. He is stubborn and doesn't move at all. But as soon he has his active time jumping around, he has no problems whatsoever to get on the whole hand indeed climbing through it lol

If he's anything like my bird, welcome to the rest of your life.

there is another thread on here, with a video.. sorry cannot think who for the moment, showing the bud doing just that as in going through the gap between fingers... FinFin is certainly a character and so lovely that he is doing all these things. Just shows like humans, you are either born with a certain personality or not.. We can teach them all sorts, but not all will do all things.. if that makes sense

Sounds like he is really happy in his home. I think he is thanking his lucky star he ended up with you.

hahaha stace if FinFin would be like Boo that would be very funny He did it again today. He is so crazy in a very funny way. Hezz I bought a new toy today with these interconnecting rings He did not check it out yet, he seems to enjoy it more to press himself through the small gaps of the water and food dishes between the grates and also he loves to press himself through the wooden ladder LOL that looks really funny. Then out of a sudden he jumps to the bottom of the cage and looks at me running back and forth, really fast, which looks so cute, because you can see his stretched neck and head while he runs back and forth what a comedian hehehe ffiscool I would love to see that video, but I can't find it anywhere phoebe thank you so much, I think FinFin knows that he is with a loving person, since he became so trustful in just a matter of a few days. He really was never afraid of me, except the first day.

That sounds really cute. You've got a very sweet little bird there and you're lucky to have each other. I love watching them play though, my Bluey has crazy moments, and like Hezz said, they loooove the rings.

Thank you so much vacanteyes! BTW. today I shot a video with my cellphone. Sadly not a very good quality but it's the only thing that does not disturb him. Every time I turn on the real camera he stops what he was doing. I think he needs to learn that a camera is not a bad thing that could eat him lol But for everyone who is interested, here you go:

I must say, it's a comfortable-looking cage for him. The video shows what's going on, clear-enough. Thanks for sharing it.

Love the video, he definitely seems taken with you and the cage. The set up is very pretty. Seems like he is thinking mine mine mine all mine. My guess is he loves the accommodations and the staff. They say classical music makes children smarter, seems like birds like it too.

What a total little sweetie character he is! No wonder you're in love with him. Lovely to hear your voice too, tanja! (Give him time with the rings)
