So sorry to hear your little guy is not feeling like himself. Best thing to do is separate him from the other birds and keep him calm and warm. Hope you can get an appointment with an avian vet. He would have a solution. Good luck, Kristy, and welcome to the forum.

Hi kristy - welcome to the forum but sorry you are having this worry about your budgie. I really hope he is getting some sleep and might be feeling a tiny bit better after that. Can you get a picture of him on here so that others can comment. (I use TinyPic to put up pictures - just use the code that is provided for forums etc) Re vets, have a look at List of avian vets if you are in the UK. Might be helpful anyway to say where you are in case others are able to suggest anyone. Also see this: www.vetindex.co.uk/vetindex/avian_ref.htm

Thankyou all for your condolences. I'm sure I'll never find another like him he was a yellowface type 1 grey opaline. One of the most beautiful birds I've ever seen. I am a little concerned about his mate, I don't want her to get depressed over losing him I've heard this can really affect budgies. Is this true & if so what can I do to prevent it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Awww, so sorry to hear that. To crack his beak he must have had some kind of impact. Maybe a fright in the night may have caused him to crash into a wall/side of cage and in doing so may have had a head injury. RIP little Sunny.

Rest in Peace, sweet handsome Sunny Boy. Keep his cute face and happy song close to your heart, and he will be with you forever, I am so sorry for your loss. Give his mate as much attention as you can. She will be missing Sunny.
