I have read that at least one member here has eye problems as well as myself. I am getting a big magnifying glass after Christmas. I am going to purchase it at Wayfair. Some of you know that my nail cutting did not go to well with Allie who ended up bleeding. There are so many models on Wayfair. Which would be the best? And Why? It's kind of funny because I remember an episode of friends where the neighbor dies, the one who comes up to complain and says "You're disturbing my birds" ..."I could have birds" And now I really want his magnifying glass. I mean come on he's dead he doesn't need it. So if anyone here does aesthetic work maybe you can tell me if this model is good. Would be used for cutting nails and stuff. www.wayfair.com/Daylight-Company-Ultra-Slim-Magnifying-Lamp-U22020-01-HPV1030.html?board_product_id=1121303There are lots of models like one with a lid to protect the lens but it looked like it would get in the way.

I don't feel in a position to advise anyone on the purchase nor fit for purpose of those types of magnifying glasses. I only use a small hand held one for reading the small print on medication packets and such like. Sorry I can't be of much help there.

I make my daughters laugh when they show me stuff. My glasses broke and I am tired of buying new ones. I keep sitting on them or stepping on them I am such a klutz. The other day my daughter came over with a magazine and it had all that plastic surgery before and after pics. I am just as curious as the next person who has 20/20 vision. So I got out my small magnifying glass. I am glad then that this would be a good purchase. They sell extra lens too like for more magnification. I'm not sure what M&S is. I will look that up.

M&S is Marks & Spencer, I don't know if you have branches over there, but I think they are a world wide company.

No there are no branches here. I think Wayfair is still my best bet. I looked at many stores. I was looking at the magnifying glasses again and some have different lighting. I wonder if I should get the one with better lighting. I have till January to decide. I hate that some of them don't show the clamp to fix it onto a table.

I only had a quick look at the few models that were shown, but from what I did see it looked as though some maybe wall mounted. They were quite pricey!. If there is a store you could visit they may be able to give you some practical advice as to which would be better for your given situation. It seems quite an expensive item to take a chance on. Lighting may well be a consideration, as well as the power of magnification. Mind you if you have plenty of money then that won't matter will it? There is many a time I have to move to better light to be able to see without using the magnifying glass.
