As some will rember ada had a lump on her cere that turned out to be in infection most likely from a bit of food being stuck there. Well she was on baytril for a week then Saturday her nostril which was blocked cleared completely. Yesterday was her check up and vet was happy. But today she is sneezing and making noise while breathing more (she has been making the noise on and off reasontly I thought it was her blocked nostril) and has some clear fluid coming out her nostril.
I have some baytril left do u think it's worth giving her some?

Wondering if it's an iodine problem after reading barries website. She doesn't have an iodine block anymore she she never used it so when I had to disinfect there cage I had to grow it it and never replaced it.

Sorry to hear that Ada is showing symptoms again after recovering well. I'm sure others will have a view about this - bad timing that your vet is probably closed for Christmas now. If budgies do get colds they may be caused by viruses like in us, so ABs wouldn't help. Hope you get some guidance soon. You've had a very difficult time recently with losing Hugo - again so sorry about this.

Maybe try scraping some of the iodine block onto her food, see if there is any improvement in her condition. Short term, cover 3 sides of the cage and put a lamp over the cage so she can stay warm. If there is no improvement then I would take her back to the vet as soon as they are open again.

Thank you guys I'll get some of that tea on boxing day when shops open again.
She is fine in her self still and singing away, so I'm not too worried but I know how things can suddenly get worse with them. wonder if the air purifier will help. Think I constantly have bad luck with them lol, I think these two may be my last budgies.

she has stopped making the noise and there is a little bit of something on her cere now so I think there may still be a few bits leftover from the infection working there way out. but will still get the tea and a new filter for the air purifier.

PP, you do a great job taking on the under privileged of the budgie world. Please don't stop doing this. It is inevitable that they are going to have more health problems than the normal healthy birds. Hopefully Ada is simply working out a bit more gunk from her system.

Yeah it's just so much worrie. I did say eagle would be the last and now have the new one so who knows.
She went noisy again this afternoon with a fair amount of clear fluid coming out that nostril. But she seems good again now. Will swing by Tesco tomorrow for the tea. She had parsley as a treat today, the only greens I can get her two eat
