Ok, let me get this right.
Inca is 2 years old and if BB's ageing was correct with Chilli being 7 months when i got him he is 8 months now.
What is the disadvantage of an 8 month old male budgie breeding.
As far as i know its a feeding issue, is it right that he will feed her and the chicks and forget to feed himself properly.

Did I say seven months OR seven months or older, because it very hard to tell after the age of 7 or 8 months exactly how old are they?

OK, looking at these pictures, I can say both are over 8 months of age. And that's all we can tell. Once they are over 8 months of age, there is no way to tell their age, except from the leg bands, if they have any.

So back to the problems of breeding from a young male, is it a food thing that they cant cope with, along with immaturity to know how to raise a family. |

Their body is not fully prepared for breeding.
They are inexperienced for breeding.
Cock not feeding, hen abandoning the eggs or not know what to do with chicks.
