hi
I know there are two types of budgies. one is normal which are small in size and another is show budgies which are big with great looks. But I am seeing some budgies that are way larger than normal budgies but they do not look exactly like show budgies.
what kind of type are they? and if we pair one of them with normal budgies will we get again big chicks?
Thanks

No entirely sure but I would assume they are just low quality show budgies.

there are the small pet one, the exhibition budgies and the lesser exhibition budgies. but there are a very small breed, that are like the wild bush budgies, called Budgerigars of colour ( nick named miniatures)

Thanks When a show type budgie is paired with a wild type budgie, the offspring are medium in size. They are bigger than wild type budgies and smaller than show type budgies.

Also, either one the pair could be wild and show type.

![](http://i1218.photobucket.com/albums/dd406/BudgiesBuddy/barries/ShowandBushBudgies_zpse33defb2-1-1.jpg) Imagine pairing up similar size budgies. What would be the result?

If the male is the small one, a totally exhausted male budgie with a frustrated female. If the male is the large bird, then a flattened female.

On a more serious note, would the outcome be a budgie with a size somewhere in between the pair?

My Hector is quite big but not a show bird. I do wonder if he had one show parent and one "normal sized" ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) ![](http://i.imgur.com/DpIGJr6.jpg)
