My Hector is quite big but not a show bird. I do wonder if he had one show parent and one "normal sized" ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) ![](http://i.imgur.com/DpIGJr6.jpg) Hello - Can i have a picture of hictor sitting next to a normal budgie? Just want to judge how it looks and will compare it with my budgie.

Thank you ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) I have gone through this link, and a lot of other information about miniature budgies. I have found that there are no miniature budgies as such. These are same as wild type budgies, which one can buy from any pet shop, as well as from small hobby breeders. Anyhow, there are breeders who are breeding them like show breeders, but keeping the same wild type size. Of course they have to give it a unique name to make it interesting ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

That is if he is just a little smaller than a show type budgie.

To be a show budgie has a lot more to do than just their size,blow/directional feather/buff feathers/double buff feathers/depth of mask/size of spots/width between the eyes/backskull/shoulder width/style/deportment and excellent condition must be all top notch.
Then they need to show themselves correctly, some birds i have a few that are naturals at this.

I also feel, from my own observations, that the longer a breeder is breeding budgies, and I am not talking show budgies here, or inbreeding, that the size of the budgies tends to increase with time. My theory is that the decrease in exercise and better feeding leads to a bigger bird, the same way humans in first world countries have grown in stature over the last few centuries.

I will find photos of the whole six bubs and their parents sometime today if that will help x

Yes, there are miniature budgies societies, and that's what I tried to say from my previous posts too. I haven't been there, but people who have, tell that they are not much different than normal bush budgies ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)
