And what a beautiful family they all are, well done they all look happy healthy little buds. Im so pleased that you have come back to show us them all grown up, i was thinking about you the other day and wondering how things were . Its a difficult call i know but i think if you advertise them free anyone could just take one on a whim but if you were to ask a small price for them people would think about it a bit more. That's just my opinion but i would be very careful to go with your gut feelings about the people that are interested in them .

I wonder if you have a local breeder who might have people who have been asking for babies, or advertise at the local vet? Then at least you will know they will be wanted properly, if that makes sense. You have done such a great job, bet it will be hard letting them go ...

I like the idea of ffiscool's of advertising at the local vets ..... more than one, if you wish. This way the vet can almost screen the new owners for you .... to make sure they are going to be looked after properly. No friends or family who have become interested in them during their growing up stages??? To friends or family is always a better bet than any random old Joe blow off the street, and a small remuneration just so they aren't free ........ stupid really, but people tend not to value that which is free.

The Vet! Of course, you guys are "bloody smashing" (hope that translates as wonderful and brilliant in British).
That is a perfect solution, or at least a perfect start and there is a sort of humorous back story too: When we first figured out that Billie Holiday was going to be laying eggs we commuicatded with the vet for advice. She had checked Billie out when we first found her out in the woods and we had her examine both the birds after we got Mr Greenburg from the pet store.
The 'funny' part is that she was very adamant that we ought not to breed the pair, that there were many dangers involved, and she laid them all out, egg binding, feather plucking etc. She sort of blew right past the part where I mentioned that mother nature had sort of taken us by storm, that we were well past the 'should we or shouldn't we' decision point. I don't mean to sound critical, she clearly had the bird's best interests at heart and I am sure she has seen plenty of heart aches walk through her door that were preventable. So I would feel very good with her, or their clinic playng some roll in finding a home for our little birds. In fact, I might arrange for her to do some sort of cursory exam (well baby check?) of the birds, it would be some compensation for her, and she could see that we had somehow muddled through. It would also provide some peace of mind for us and the future owners that these birds are grade AA.
Thanks again for the capital idea! By the way, do you really think our birds are beautiful? I'll give you half an hour to quit saying that, ... oh what the heck, go ahead and take a whole hour to tell us how beautiful they are!
I know it will be emotional seeing them go down the road with someone else,... my wife is likely to need therapy! We will keep you posted as the story progresses.
Bless you all.

Only the wife needing therapy??? Kidding, only, but I would be moving in right along with the babies! Forget the old adage of taking on a mother-in-law ....... I would be like take one of my baby budgies, you take me too!
