The new toys: This one looks like some alien creature. And my Spyro-inspired one; Ira will understand the use of gems. The reason for the lengths left hanging: Mango seems to be a string chewer, so she can grab hold of the ends and give it all a shake.

excellent... is that black leather, or string in the second from bottom? It's leather, ffiscool. In fact they are all strung up with leather strips, or in the case of the first one, they call it "rolled string"

Very nice toys, I wish I could get some toy kits. My favorite sites can't send them to Canada.

Amazing, Hezz! You're so creative! Wish I could come up with that sort of thing. of course, it might help if I could find some thin leather, and some thicker leather, and bought some big packs of beads. Munchy seems to be more of a floor toy budgie though, or anything with a ball, in which case he's more interested in the ball than anything else. Maybe one day I'll have a budgie interested in beads. Munchy did like them as a chick. Collect those gems, young Spyro! But don't let Banks take them all He's such a greedy gem-grabber!

I'm inspired to take a trip to the Art Store this week and get all sorts of beads and shapes and leather string. Great toys Hezz.

I did get the leather string from an on-line store, but only because my local craft shop seems to have stopped stocking it. The beads all came from there (craft store) and the balls are cat balls of different sizes. Plus some other bits and pieces from old toys, that's all I have used. You don't need expensive kits, just a bit of imagination, or steal someone else's ideas. We all do it. Moogie is about to steal one now.

Is this another name for Moneybags, we wondered?? Younger offspring couldn't enlighten me either ....... I can tell it is time I sent him back to school! (Start back tomorrow. Poor Spyro seems too wary to play with toys ........ he doesn't seem to know what millet is all about either.

I've always been afraid of buying something that toxic for my birds. Like the leather really has to be died with something that is non toxic because birds chew it so much. Even if it's made for kids, they might not expect kids to put it in their mouth. Also someone once told me their bird got a leg caught in a cat ball and the edges turned out to be cheap and sharp enough to cut the bird (guess they were cheap). I guess I don't trust my own capacity to judge the safety of things. Your toys all look safe though. I don't know why salespeople are so lazy and jaded, I had bought some eyelets when I didn't have my glasses. I asked the sales person for stainless steel and got home to find with my magnifying glass that they were in fact toxic for my bird and not at all stainless steel. I guess I could buy some stuff and make a thread. With many opinions maybe I won't put my birds in danger.
