This morning we've been learning the species:) They kiss and lick some species and look behind the pages wondering where the bird actually is lol:D Other species they hate and turn thier backs on with disdain! Favourites are amazons, cockatoos only with the crests up, conures and pheasants. Birds to dislike are rosellas, bourkes and lorikeets. Peggy looks a bit surprised that macaws can be red and blue lol! These 2 cockatoos got alot of kisses!

I love it, Nat. Your birds are beautiful. They look so sweet - and smart.
Do they really recognise the printed pictures?

They recognise budgie pics and kiss them. Particulary yellow ones. Well Peggy does anyway lol. And they seem to like big birds with big black kissable beaks the best. Preferably green and yellow birds. Black, blue, red parrots don't get a kiss lol. Nuts fell in love with my mates amazon 3 years ago and seems to like amazon pics the best. I think they are attracted to certain types of eyes. The bigger and more dilated the better:) The cockatoos with the crests up looking surprised just fascinate them:) When they kiss the pics they always kiss the beaks. Nuts is the one who searches behind the page for the rest of the bird lol. Not sure where their like for phesants has come from? Maybe the long colourful tail feathers? We also spend time looking at parrot pics on the internet So I think thier likes of bird pics are down to colour, beak shine and the look in the eye Stace

Lucky you, Nat! They really are a pair of characters. Although I do feel sorry for the rosellas, bourkes and lorries.......I wonder if they know they are smaller birds?

Maybe the rosellas, lories and bourkes don't have such engaging eyes or crazy enough head feathers leaping from the page enough to catch their attention ? Or perhaps it is because they are smaller on the page. I'll have to get a big pic of one on the pc for them and see if it has more appeal:)

Rosellas, lories and bourkes also don't have that circle of colour around the eyes, or in the case of the galahs and major mitchells, it's like a disc of skin, so the eyes look bigger......maybe that's what they like?
