I Will hopefully be building an aviary within the near future. I intend to separate the cocks and hens into two different flights. I will also be setting up a few breeding cages. So for the chicks, should I add a third flight; or can they be raised in a flight with males or the females? Or are they able to be kept in the breeding cages for a few months? Put short, what sort of housing would chicks require until they can join the main flights?
On a tangent, is this forum the same as the old budgerigar.co.uk forum? Similar bunch of members?
Cheers

Why are you thinking of separating the sexes? Just curious. Oh, welcome to the forum.

I've just always been led to believe that separation of the sexes had more pros than cons. But after some quick research I guess that may not be the case haha. So maybe a main flight with a smaller flight for the chicks when required would be more appropriate?

Small hobby breeders, who don't know how to condition birds and break bonds a month before breeding, keep the cocks and hens separate. I won't advise that.
A baby flight is always a good thing to have for a breeder. Normally it is half the height of the full flight, and chicks are placed there until they are ready to go to main flight.
