Hi I have just bought a new nest box with the top opening lid. Has anyone got some of these and how do you fasten them to the cage wires? At the moment I have screwed some big hooks into the front and fastened them through the gaps with those will they be okay?

I've put the cup hooks in the front and its hung on the cage opening okay. This is the nestbox Ihave bought. I usually buy them with the side openings and drilled two holes in the front and top parallel and put ties wraps through and fastened it that way onto the cage but thought I would try this. Time will tell if its okay I suppose. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150638269065?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649Sue

Hi Sue and welcome to forum I have used both these hooks. When I used the round ones, there used to be some gap between nest box and cage wires. So I started using these straight ones, in fact a little longer than the one in the picture above . Hence the nest box is straight and completely fixed with cage wires. The nest box will look somewhat similar to this.
