hello so one of u guys here adviced me to change the plastic perch of my budgies with natural one. So I went today and got a cut of fig, pear and orange branch. My question is how to clean them. I examined them, they are insects free and the trees are not sprayed with any pesticides. so can I just rub them with soap and put them in sun for about a day. Do I have to peal the branch's skin off? And one last thing should it be dry(woody dry not water dry)? cuz the trees I got the cut from are green. thanks alot

Some sites list pear as controversial.
The wood doesn't need to dry out. Cut to length, give a good scrub with a hard bristled brush and detergent rinse, and dry in the sun. Some members like to bake them in a low heat oven.
