Depending on the hen, we can get them in parents fed chicks too, but maybe not this much. So you are an over-zealous parent with an over-zealous chick??? Can you ask for a better combination

I'm just astounded at the growth each day, if not the chick, the feathers. Wonderful.

Gotta agree with you there OP the feather growth rate is outstanding! BB must be giving her all the nutrients she needs to grow big and strong

You can see her cheek patches now. That's amazing, so fast.

This has been a amazing thread to read. Thank you for sharing Dilly's story. Its so wonderful to see the growth of the chick from day to day! I recently had to hand rear 4 of my babies as the parents stopped feeding them and i found the oldest chick dead in the nest and the other four starving. They were between 7 & 14 days old. It was my first experience at hand rearing and i loved it!

The difference in her tail feathers especially over the course of a day is incredible! This is as good as watching Sarah's chicks day by day, only we had more of them to watch.

It was an hour before sunrise when I uncovered Dilly and was thinking; oh shoot, I have to wash the brooder again today. This is when Lovie landed to inspect as well.
