I saw this bird on facebook and was amazed by its beauty so I thought I would share it: Lilac-breasted Roller Bird The Lilac-breasted Roller is a member of the roller family of birds. It is widely distributed in sub-Saharan Africa and the southern Arabian Peninsula, preferring open woodland and savanna; it is largely absent from treeless places.

Stunning. The colours a bit like the Gouldian finch.

If I knew what one looked like I might agree. I'm off bird hunting now, on the web of course.
