Well Belle has started her first moult at last. She's been losing little fluffy feathers for weeks but now the bigger ones are starting to come out and there are so many smaller ones on the cage floor every day Im surprised shes not bald! She has her veg most days and hard boiled egg a few times a week, I was wondering if anyone uses Moultone moulting tonic and is it any good?

Sorry can't help you there with the tonic, but just want to say baby Belle is growing up. It is a little sad seeing them lose their baby bars. Mango has recently lost hers too.

I've used that tonic but I found the egg food seemed to get them through the moult better.

I don't like to use any kind of tonic from a shop that claims to help their feathers. There's nothing better for a molt than Luke warm water in a spray bottle and giving them a good misting with it. That's if they won't take a bath on their own haha!

Simple high protein diet would be enough.

Thanks everyone for the advice.I wont bother with the tonic. She enjoys a good soaking in a bath and although I haven't tried egg food she will eat hard boiled egg and veg.
