They could have had their wings clipped before you got them. How old are they, not very old, I can see that from the bars on their heads.

They are approx 16 weeks, they had All their feathers when i picked them up and could fly fine when out their cage at home, but then they were all on the bottom of their cage one morning. The man didn't mention their wings were clipped. Beavis lost all long wing feathers (just starting to show that they are growing back) birdhead only seemed to loose them on 1 side!

From what I have read they shed their flight feathers one side at a time not both sides together. Of course there is always the exception. It depends which manual the get. Lets hope they grow back rather quickly.

Could you post a full body picture, like the one in your avatar so we can have a better look?

White head, possible girl is smaller body wise. They are on their perch at the min so I might get lucky taking a pic, then again they are quite camera shy ha ha

I think you are correct with your thinking on their gender. Smaller body size doesn't necessarily mean anything in the budgie world as there huge variations in size due to some having show budgie genes - having been purposely been selected to increase their size. Also the yellow on the boy's head should get brighter with maturity.

What gorgeous little boys they are. Mine had their first big molt at about 16-18 weeks so it may be that.

Their wing feathers are almost fully back. Seems like there had been no growth for a few weeks and in the last few days they have sprouted! Going to let them out on the carpet today to see how they manage! Glad they have had a bigger cage while they have been waiting though!
