My new Budgies - Jack and Jessy
I'm new to this forum. Nice to meet you all.
I got my new Budgies on Easter. They're still young so I couldn't find the gender yet. They still have some black bars on their heads. So, I think they are less than 4 months. I can't let them out because I'm not allowed to clip it's wings. Can I entertain my Budgies from their cage? They're always trying escape. Morning and Night they're very silent. Afternoon and evening they are very naughty, doing funny things and opening the door cage. How can I train them not to do this. How can I tame them from the cage without letting them out? What is the max size of a budgie? How long your budgies lived?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello and welcome to the forum. Please don't clip their wings it is unnecessary and cruel. As long as you budgie proof the room - cover mirrors, windows, etc why can they not come out. Mine are out whenever I'm at home. Have a read through the stickies at the start of each section of the forum and you will get lots of information to help you tame etc.

Get them used to you and your hands first, before allowing them out. Training them to step up onto a perch or your finger makes life easier for everyone before allowing them free flight. You may have to peg the door closed to stop them escaping ....... do they have any toys, and is the cage big enough for two budgies? They need to be stimulated to prevent them from becoming bored.

Please look through all the budgie taming threads on here so you can learn how to finger train your budgies after they have settled in...It would be awful for them never to come out of the cage for a fly each day and once they are used to you and you have worked hard to gain their trust ,finger tamed them and budgie proofed the room they then i see no reason at all for them not to come out, imagine being locked up the whole of your life in a cage not being able to take a walked, thats how it would be for your budgies,...
