I posted that on my facebook. It is so sweet, wish my chickens gave hugs. One of our ex battery hens used to jump up on our laps when we sat in the garden, she was so lovely and trusting when you consider how she had been treated.

a house that backs onto the back of my garden, they have 3 chickens and the woman is always picking them up and giving them hugs, they run after her, and stand at her feet, waitin.. I am a first floor flat, hence being able to see all this :-) dont want anyone thinking i hang over fences, watching

Very, very interesting. Thank you, both, for bringing the humble chook to the fore. We have often talked about keeping chooks, but our resident pythons are a big deterrent. As an off-shoot, does anyone have any experience with guinea fowl??? They do tend to fend off snakes.
