Has anyone else grown chickweed from seed? If you've been successful I would like to know more. I got some seeds recently from Shelled Warriors and expecting them to spring up like triffids as it seems to be everywhere out there. However after about 4 weeks this is all I've got - seems a bit pathetic: ![](http://i57.tinypic.com/2n0kfgm.jpg)

I haven't grown chickweed from seeds, but I have pulled up a few young plants growing haphazardly around nearby, threw them in a pot, and they've always grown really well.

Ah, so one has to throw them in the pot. Form what sort of distance? What force does one apply?

Ah, so one has to throw them in the pot. Form what sort of distance? What force does one apply? There's no need to do any special secret dance moves whilst potting them. I just poked them into a big pot around where I've got a frangipani plant growing. It's a weed so it pretty much grows itself.

Amazing isnt it, when you want weeds to grow they wont and when you don't you cant get rid. I used to see shepherds purse and groundsel everywhere but have a real job finding it these days, buds love it ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png) .

Oooooh thanks birdguhl, interesting site ive got most goodies in the garden and i forage when im out on dog walks but may look into getting some groundsel and shepherds purse seeds. My grandaughter and i are creating a wild garden at the bottom of my garden, im letting the grass grow long and we have sown wild flower seeds into it so i could get some going down there. My old dad who passed away 4 years ago would have had a fit if he knew i was buying weed seeds, he fought the battle of the weeds on his allotment for years bless him.

Weeds are only flowers that happen to grow in the wrong place. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Weeds are plants/flowers that grow where people don't want them. In their flower beds, in the middle of a lawn or up through the cracks in concrete, So they are plants/flowers that grow in the wrong place. They do it very well. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)
