My budgie has a purple beak... do you think it will be a girl or a boy? I really want to name it but I cant name it until I know the gender.

emagrace, it is the colour of the budgie's cere that is the telling factor, not the beak. Post us up a good clear photo of budgie's face, no flash, natural lighting. We may be able to help you then.

It hard to tell. Try and place the bird near a window and have him face towards the window. Ensure no flash is used. The flash can sometimes highlight the rim of the nostrils and show them as having a white coloured ring, which can denote a female. Without the flash it will be easier to tell the sex. Young males and females can have the lilac coloured cere, my Charlie must be 7 months old now and his cere has only recently started turning blue, but my adopted boy Joe is younger and already has the blue cere.
The easiest way to upload a photo is to open a Photobucket account. Firstly open a new internet window. Google "Photobucket" and create an account, it's free!!! Download the photo by clicking the "UPLOAD" button. This will take you to you pictures folder on your PC. Click the one you want. When the photo loads into Photobucket, it will be a small photo. Click it once to make it bigger, then to the right of the photo there are options to "Links to share this photo" with 4 options. Left click once the bottom option and the file path will change to "Copied". Now go back to the thread in the budgie forum where you want to place it. Start the thread or post and where you want to put the photo just press CTRL (control) and V together and it will embed the file path as coded text. Continue typing etc and then submit your post. The text will turn into your photo once it has been posted.
It sounds complicated but it is really only 4 or 5 clicks.
