Very strange, I managed to get those two downloaded but it won't let me show a picture of Mischief! Honestly these machines

Hi Millie, just popped over from your other thread to see what you were worrying over. When you said that they are both moulting I had an "ah-ha!" moment. When budgies are moulting it can make them a bit sad and grumpy, my Ozzie went through a bad moult a few weeks ago and he was the same but now he is back to his happy hyper self and at 4 years old he has more energy than a year ago. What I found helped him was to mist him with tepid (luke warm) water once every day (making sure that the house isn't too cold for him first though) and I added Johnsons multi-vitamins to their water every day for a week. It perked him up no end Also as I said in the other thread please get rid of the sandpaper sheets, they are bad for budgies feet and if they eat the sand it can cause issues. Sheets of newspapers work just as well

Hope Mischief is picking up, Millie. I give mine a dose of vitamins one week out of every month, and I do think it helps. The other thing I give them when they are moulting is egg food. I haven't noticed the grumpyness as much since I started using these two, so try that as well as the misting. Also regarding the cuttlefish, my experience with Smudge is that she will go through a small one every week, but I couldn't tell you how much of it she consumes. And it is only her as she won't let anyone else near it, lol. Barrie always maintains ( Barrie) they only eat what they need.

Just to update- that Mischief seems so much better! I don't know what it was but hazard a guess that it may have been stress! Poor little thing, anyway she seems to have perked up and is giving Sid as good as she gets once more, which is a good sign phew!

I think because the molt is over. I think you're right BB She's never had such a 'hard' moult, it gave me quite a fright! Poor little thing, a toughie though it seems as she's lots better now. I gave her (and Sid!) extra attention, millet for energy and cleaned their cages a lot more, well needed too with all the feathers about Salaam

Glad Mischief is feeling so much better. I hate to hear about a budgie being under the weather.
