I would like to start by asking about our budgies with liver problems. A few of us have them.
What would you use to treat the bird holistically.
Are there any specific foods that we can give them to help them?
Thanks!

I thank Marianne for her well intentioned actions in setting up Questions for Dr Ross Perry yet my reading is that she has implied and has apparently created a very unrealistic expectation that I will be a constant source of free professional advice, so I will dispel that myth immediately. I will answer some questions, and if allowed, direct respondents to various articles, videos, books and pages and websites that I have published related to the question and/or my answers.
I intend to also monitor intermittently issues of concern of members of Budgerigars Forum to see if they warrant me creating a video on the subject, writing an e-article, or including it in the next edition of one or more of my about to be published budgie books.
For those who truly want my help and are prepared to pay for my time by paypal at $50/15 minutes or part thereof, by prior contact I can schedule a time for physical appointment if you live within traveling distance of me, or we can have a phone, skype or ichat discussion if you live remote from here.
I contribute to some other forums and my own facebook pages regularly, especially on holistic avian care and health. I have access to quantum/advanced radionics technology that can be used to evaluate the health of individual animals, birds, people from anywhere to anywhere if needed (with appropriate fees). I have just about finished building a website providing current contact details and much morebut am not sure whether I am allowed to publicise that in this forum. Perhaps Marianne can post the link(s) if deemed appropriate.

There are many often interacting factors contributing to liver diseases in budgies including viruses such as budgie pbfd circovirus, polyomavirus, pacheco's herpesvirus and adenoviruses; bacteria such as Chlamydia psittaci (very common), E.coli, Klebsiella, Pasteurella and many more coliforms,; fungi such as Candida, aspergillus and especially Aspergilllus aflatoxins; protozoa such as Trich occasionally; a wide range of poisons including some commonly mis-used antibitoics, heavy metals, and especially petrochemicals from plastic toys food and water containers etc etc. and yes, there are more. The word "treatment" in the question has legal connotations that are often poles apart from holistic management and help and health support. Treatment implies the use of pharmaceutical petrochemical drugs etc and these days probably should be avoided for legal reasons when helping birds with other modalities. If I don't have a precise diagnosis and often when I do, I will suggest major changes to the environment and management to prevent access to poisons, etc, and support the liver, I will suggest anti-oxidants especially a source of all 8 essential glyconutrients, and if remote quantum adjustments as well as evaluations are not wanted, I will discuss exploring the use of zeo vet-tox via drinking water for 2 weeks in case of most bacteria, and up to 14 weeks for some viruses and poisons. An introductory link to zeo vet-tox is goldcoastbirdvet.weebly.com/zeo-vet-tox.html. Dr Ross Perry
